Graphic Design Intern - Summer '26
At Spotlight, it’s our mission to craft and sustain a successful analyst relations (AR) program for our clients –– and the Marketing Team plays a key role in maintaining Spotlight’s corporate identity. As a Graphic Design intern, you will be working closely with our Marketing Team to support them through various projects and tasks.
To be successful as an intern, you should be willing to help with any tasks assigned by a supervisor. Your work will be focused in a specific department where you will get a chance to immerse yourself in a specialty and gain transferable skills. You will receive a basic understanding of analyst relations and be involved in a few cross-team collaboration projects for an even broader view of the impact on Spotlight’s work.
Following the completion of the program and evaluated performance, interns may have the opportunity to continue part-time or full-time employment.
Intern Responsibilities:
Assist in content ideation for internal and external Spotlight events
Redesign Spotlight collateral, such as slide decks, iconography, etc.
Create many different pieces of content, ranging from ads, social media, print design, web design, slide design, etc.
Support the broader Marketing team with various projects
Additional Intern Activities:
Fulfill tasks set out by supervisors from several departments
Assist in community outreach efforts
Attend company events and expand your professional network
Intern Requirements:
Pursuing a degree in Graphic Design or a related field
Has experience using the Adobe Suite (primarily Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro) Google/Microsoft Suite, and Wordpress with light knowledge of Figma/HTML/CSS/Affinity/Adobe After Effects (or other animation software)
Preference for knowledge in motion graphics and/or illustration work, alongside strong graphic design background
Must submit a portfolio of previous work to be reviewed (this can be a PDF, Website, etc.)
Preference given to candidates who will graduate in December 2026 and May 2027
Must currently live in or be open to relocating to Kansas City for the summer
Available to work approximately 40 hours/week from May 26, 2026 to August 7, 2026
Eager to learn and work with various departments in the company

An upbeat, fun, and engaging attitude
Excellent communication skills and style, and ability to work with many different audiences
Fundamental writing, research, and critical-thinking skills
Time management abilities to coordinate different deadlines across projects
Works well and collaborates with teammates
Should have a strong interest in the digital tech space but can come from a variety of different backgrounds including corporate communications, business, public relations, and/or marketing
