Software Development Intern
Are you a computer science student who wants to spend a summer writing real code, shipping real features, and getting hands-on experience with a production full-stack application?
About the role
Spotlight Oz is our proprietary AR platform — a full-stack JavaScript application that enterprise technology companies use to manage and measure their analyst relations programs. As a Software Developer Intern, you’ll join Spotlight’s technology team and contribute directly to Oz: building features, fixing bugs, writing tests, and learning what it looks like to develop and ship software in a real production environment.
You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, gain exposure to the full product lifecycle, and leave the summer with hands-on experience in a modern tech stack that you’ll actually be able to talk about in future interviews. Interns who perform well have the opportunity to continue with Spotlight part-time or full-time after the program ends.
What you’ll work on
Assist the development team with front-end and back-end coding, testing, and debugging across Spotlight Oz.
Gain exposure to Spotlight’s full tech stack: PostgreSQL, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, GitHub, and Jira.
Build an understanding of the full product lifecycle — from feature definition through development, testing, and deployment.
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other team members on real work that ships.
Attend company events, expand your professional network, and contribute to community outreach efforts.
What you bring
Coding fundamentals. You have a solid foundation in software development through coursework or projects. You’re comfortable with at least one programming language and eager to pick up new ones. Computer science majors are encouraged to apply.
Problem-solving mindset. You approach bugs and challenges methodically, aren’t discouraged when something doesn’t work the first time, and know how to ask good questions when you’re stuck.
Collaborative approach. You work well in a team environment, communicate clearly about what you’re working on, and take feedback on your code as part of the learning process — not as criticism.
You should currently be pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field. Prior internship or project experience with web development is a plus but not required.
